Will Libby Support Huckabee?

When Bill Clinton first came to the White House, the number of clemency applications jumped to a level the Department of Justice had not seen for almost 40 years. It wasn't so much that there as "new guy" in office" as there was finally a Democrat (applications steadily declined throughout the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush).

If George W. Bush does not grant a full, unconditional pardon to Scooter Libby, what will the next administration do? Well, the Arkansas Leader reports that presidential hopeful and Governor Mike Huckabee is something extraordinary when it comes to using the pardon power in his state (Arkansas). Writer Garrick Feldman notes Huckabee has granted clemency in 703 instances (including "a dozen murderers") since 1996 and, in that same time period, there were fewer clemency grants (603 to be exact) in six neighboring states! Huckabee might be good for Libby!
