Congressional Call for Christmas Clemency

World Net Daily reports (story here):

A bi-partisan resolution is being introduced into the House of Representatives calling on President Bush to commute immediately the sentences of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, so they can be home with their families by Christmas.

How about that, an explicit call for "Christmas clemency" by the legislative branch! There may be some movement on our pardon watch list. Rep. William Delahunt, D-Mass., the sponsor of the resolution, has made the now obligatory reference to Scooter Libby. But fortunately, for Ramos and Compean, Delahunt's commentary did not take the form of a legal motion. The so-called "Libby motion" has never worked before and there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to think that it ever will.
