The Insight of Valerie Plame

In her latest "very first speech" (story here), Valerie Plame asserts that she expected a "push-back" would come when her husband, Joe Wilson (a Democrat and supporter of John Kerry's failed candidacy for the presidency), jumped onto the national stage to be critical of comments made by President Bush in the State of the Union address. With that sort of subtle, crafty prognostication skill, one can easily see why she was in the spy business.

But Plame says she never dreamed that the "push-back" would come "at the expense of our national security." Yes, the impact has been devastating ... right? Anyone?

At the same time, Plame complains that the CIA has not been enthusiastic about the publication of her new supposed tell-all book. Poor CIA. Damned if they do. Damned if they don't. Having her law suits against the government and high ranking officials summarily dismissed in the federal courts, she is now planning on suing the Agency she has so gallantly dedicated her life to. "Censorship" she says, is a "First Amendment issue."Is there no end to this gal's smarts?
