Rangel: Libby Being Pardoned

Over at the New York Sun, Jacob Gershman discusses New York Governor Spitzer's potential law suit against the government of the United States. Along the way, the story notes:
"With the war going the way it is, why would he select the children?" Rep. Charles Rangel said, joining the governor at a press conference in Mr. Spitzer's New York City headquarters on Third Avenue. "With Gonzales leaving, with Scooter Libby being pardoned, with Rove going, why would the president look for the most vulnerable of Americans to say that he's going to make it more difficult for them to have health care?"
Hard to know if Rangel was 1) making a prediction, 2) continuing to confuse pardons and commutations or 3) oblivious to the fact that Libby's punishment was not entirely erased. Regardless, with leadership like that, it is no wonder the public can be so easily mis-informed on the topic of clemency.
